Town continue to await Alun Armstrong's decision on whether he becomes a Town player. The Middlesbrough man returned to the North-East yesterday to discuss the move with his wife. Prior to this he had passed a medical and the Blues had even called a press conference for 3pm. However, the former Stockport man needed more time and is currently mulling Town's offer over.

Amir Karic, Town's latest signing, has received his work permit and will be in the squad for tomorrow's game at Millwall. The Slovenian will be sorting out the remaining red tape today and is expected to sign on the dotted line so he can make his debut at the New Den. Town manager George Burley said of his new signing: "He has a lovely left foot and is very dangerous at set plays." I think we've been needing someone like that for a while haven't we?

Town reserves drew 0-0 yesterday afternoon with Leyton Orient at Brisbane Road. It was a game of few chancesm with Richard Logan having the best opportunity for Town.Town fielded Anday Wright and Neil Murphy, trialists from Leeds and Liverpool respectively.. Town team: Pullen, Murphy, Kennedy, Bramble, J Miller, Moffat, Holster, Niven, A Wright (Chibogu (Nicholls)), R Logan, Maurel (A Miller).

Town reserves take on Layton Orient this afternoon (2pm) at Brisbane Road with another trialist joining Leeds youngster Andy Wright in the Town side. Wright played in the reserves' last game at Bournemouth and makes another appearence today. The second trialist is Neil Murphy, a Liverpool youth, who plays in defence. The 19-year old will be hoping to impress as will John Kennedy who is looking for a new club after being released by Town. Full squad: Pullen, Niemi, Murphy, Kennedy, Bramble, J. Miller, Moffat, Holster, Niven, Wright, Logan, Nicholls, Maurel, Artun, A. Miller and Chibogu.

The results of the shirt poll are out and as everyone thought it is kit C (the one that didn't look like a Man City away strip or a Spurs home outfit). It got 67% of the poll with 9,000 votes. Town are likely to wear it for the first time on Saturday at Stockport and at QPR on the 22nd.
